Answers to the questions families, carers, providers and direct customers usually ask before reserving Hope Ring 1.
Safety and daily use
What does HOPE actually do?
HOPE is a discreet smart ring designed for safer independent living. It is being built to monitor signals like motion, heart health, stress, activity and wellness patterns, then help family or carers understand when something may need attention. The goal is simple: less guessing, fewer missed moments, and faster awareness when a loved one may need help.
What if something happens when no one is around?
That is the exact situation HOPE is designed for. If a fall, unusual movement pattern, distress signal or concerning change is detected, HOPE is intended to notify the selected care circle so someone can check in sooner. It helps reduce the risk of a person being left alone for hours before anyone knows something has happened.
Does protection depend on pressing a button?
No. Traditional panic buttons can fail at the worst time because the person may be unconscious, confused, injured, in pain, or simply unable to reach the button. HOPE is being built around passive detection and automatic awareness, so support does not depend only on someone manually asking for help.
Will HOPE detect every fall or emergency?
No wearable can honestly promise to detect every fall, emergency or health event. Performance can depend on fit, battery, connectivity, movement type, the person wearing it and the environment. HOPE is designed to improve awareness and response, and the wearer can also manually ask for help by tapping the ring a few times. It should not replace emergency services, medical advice or an existing care plan for high-risk situations.
Who gets alerted if something is wrong?
HOPE is designed around a trusted care circle. That may include family members, carers, support workers or approved providers depending on how the ring is set up. The idea is that alerts go to the people who are most likely to act quickly, rather than leaving everyone unsure who should check in.
Can family check whether someone is okay?
Yes, the companion experience is being designed to help authorised family and carers understand recent activity and changes without needing constant check-in calls. Instead of asking, "Are they safe right now?" and hoping for the best, families can get a clearer sense of patterns, activity and possible concerns. Access is intended to be permission-based, so the person wearing HOPE stays in control of who can see their information.
Comfort, battery and features
Is HOPE waterproof?
HOPE is designed for real daily life, including ordinary water exposure such as washing hands, showering and going about the day without constantly removing the ring.
How long does the battery last?
Hope Ring 1 is being designed for up to 7 days of battery life, depending on usage, settings and connectivity. Longer battery life matters because families should not have to worry every day about whether the ring is charged. Early access reservations also include a Pro charging case, so keeping the ring powered is easier at home or while travelling.
Will it be comfortable enough to wear all day and night?
That is one of the main reasons HOPE is a ring rather than a bulky pendant or watch. It is designed to be discreet, lightweight and suitable for continuous wear, including overnight when many incidents can happen. Early access reservations include a free sizing kit so the final fit can be confirmed before the ring ships.
What health signals does HOPE monitor?
HOPE is being built around fall detection, stress, heart health, wellness and longevity, activity and fitness, care circle alerts, battery awareness and lab uploads. These signals are designed to provide useful context, not to diagnose medical conditions. If something looks concerning, the right next step may still be to contact a healthcare professional or emergency services.
What is included with early access?
Early access reservations currently include the Hope Ring 1 Batch 1 price, a free sizing kit, priority delivery, a Pro charging case and 1 year free extended warranty. These inclusions are designed to make the first setup smoother and reduce friction for families, carers and funded customers preparing ahead of shipment.
Price, funding and reservation
Who can reserve?
Anyone can reserve Hope Ring 1 with a $5 refundable deposit. Support at Home and NDIS customers may receive priority coordination for the 2026 Q4 release, subject to eligibility, assessment and provider approval.
Are there any additional costs?
HOPE is currently offered as a one-time device purchase at $499 AUD for Batch 1. At the moment, there are no hidden monthly subscription fees for the core device experience shown on this site. If future optional services are introduced, they will be explained clearly before anyone chooses to add them.
Can HOPE be funded through Support at Home or NDIS?
Eligible customers may be able to purchase HOPE through approved Support at Home or NDIS funding pathways. If the device is approved and paid through your relevant funding source, there should be no out-of-pocket device cost to you for the device itself. Funding approval is not guaranteed and depends on your eligibility, plan or budget, provider, assessment and the rules that apply to your program.
What happens if I use Support at Home or NDIS funding?
If your purchase is approved and paid through your relevant funding source, HOPE will refund the $5 reservation deposit to your original payment method. Funding approval is not guaranteed and depends on your eligibility, plan or budget, provider and applicable program rules.
How does the $5 reservation work?
The $5 AUD reservation secures your place for Hope Ring 1 and is fully refundable if you cancel before your ring ships. Before shipping, HOPE will contact you to confirm sizing, delivery details, funding pathway and any remaining balance. If your ring is later approved and paid through Support at Home or NDIS, the $5 reservation deposit will be refunded to your original payment method.
What does the $5 deposit do?
It secures your reservation while your funding method, ring size, delivery details and final order are confirmed. It also gives HOPE the details needed to coordinate the next step with you, your family, your provider, or your chosen payment pathway.
What happens if I pay directly?
Your $5 deposit secures your reservation and is credited toward your Batch 1 price unless you cancel before your ring ships. Direct customers can pay the remaining balance before dispatch after sizing and delivery details are confirmed.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes. The $5 reservation deposit is refundable if you cancel before your ring ships. Any sizing kit charge is separate from the reservation deposit.
When will the remaining amount be paid?
Before shipping, we will contact you to confirm sizing, delivery details and the remaining balance based on your Batch 1 price. We will then coordinate payment with you, your Support at Home provider, or your NDIS payment pathway as applicable.
Shipping and privacy
When will Hope Ring 1 ship?
Hope Ring 1 is currently planned for Batch 1 release in Q4 2026. Reservation holders will receive updates as production, sizing confirmation and delivery coordination progress. If timing changes, HOPE will communicate clearly so families and providers can plan around it.
Is my family's data private?
HOPE is designed for sensitive care situations, so privacy matters. Personal information and care-related data should only be available to authorised people involved in the user's care. You can read more in the Privacy Policy, and HOPE will continue to design the experience around consent, appropriate access and practical care needs.
